About Glide Baptist
Glide Baptist Church is a rural church in the beautiful town of Glide in Douglas County, Oregon. Our goal is loving God and others. Since 1903, we’ve shared a rich heritage of being part of this community. It’s a come-as-you-are church with a family feel—we love Jesus and His Word, and we’re not ashamed of that.
What to Expect
- Kids stay in the main service until the sermon, then head to Children’s Church.
- Nursery is provided.
- Come as you are — worship style is contemporary.

Core Beliefs
The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant, truthful word given so we can know Him, ourselves,
and the story of redemption.
One triune God—Father, Son, and Spirit—distinct yet one, eternal, perfect, creator and authority over all.
All three present at creation and always in unison.
God’s Son took on flesh without ceasing to be God. He obeyed the Father perfectly and came to save mankind.
By His death and bodily resurrection, He is the only way to salvation.
The Spirit convicts of sin, points to Jesus, gives understanding to the gospel, counsels, guides,
and grows believers—indwelling them as the guarantee of salvation.
Humanity—male and female—is made in God’s image for relationship with Him and one another, to steward the earth,
and to multiply. Marriage and family are foundational, with sex as God’s gift within marriage and life beginning at conception.
Sin is any action, inaction, or attitude contrary to God’s nature and Word, separating us from Him.
Angels are created spiritual beings who worship and serve God. Some fell—led by Satan, a deceiver who
masquerades as light and seeks to turn people from God.
Salvation is God’s gift by grace, received through faith—not earned by works. Jesus bore our punishment and gives
us His righteousness, restoring us to relationship with God.
The Church is the body of Christ, unified under Jesus. The local church is where believers grow in the knowledge of Jesus
and are encouraged and empowered to do His ministry.
Jesus will return at the right time. His coming ushers in judgment: those who belong to Him will be saved,
and those who reject Him face eternal separation.
